MEDIA RELEASE: DEREGULATION NOT A PRIORITY FOR CORMANN
The Abbott Government is so dysfunctional it can’t even properly implement its attack on punctuation.
Last year the Prime Minister gave a ministerial statement on both repeal days, this year he didn’t even bother turning up.
In his ministerial statement for the 2014 spring repeal day, Tony Abbott said:
“Ministerial Advisory Councils have been established in each portfolio so that the people impacted by decisions can have a say on them.”
TONY ABBOTT – MINISTERIAL STATEMENT – 22 OCTOBER 2014
This is yet another Tony Abbott lie.
In answers provided to Labor’s questions on notice, Finance Minister Mathias Cormann admitted he hasn’t bothered to set one up yet.
The Government’s Annual Deregulation Report shows Mathias Cormann didn’t even bother providing information about it to Parliamentary Secretary Christian Porter.
The Department of Finance is supposed to be at the heart of the Government’s deregulation agenda.
Clearly the Finance Minister agrees this is just another cynical stunt from a dysfunctional government with no new ideas.
